What is CMA®?

Certified Management Accountants (CMAs) are financial management professionals who have gained the knowledge and skills necessary to provide analysis, evaluation, and synthesis in the area of cost and management decision-making. Our program leads to the most respected and highly sought-after designation in business: the CMA®.

Certified Management Accountants are strategic value creators who apply proactive financial skills and forward-looking management to provide innovative business solutions. Unlike a CPA, which emphasizes financial reporting, auditing, theoretical applications and after-the-fact verification, the CMA® looks to the future to provide real-world strategic direction, business management, and leadership. A CMA® creates value, instead of just measuring it.

The CMA® Program is open to both Accountants and Non-Accountants. University graduates with accounting degree need to take the CMA® Program while non-accounting graduates need to take the same program plus four (4) additional subjects.

Program Syllabus

Same curriculum is being used by all providers in ICMA Australia in the world, including Monash University, Deakin University and University of South Australia. Because of the recognition of CMA® graduates, successful participants who become CMA® can actually earn substantial credits (about 40% of total units) towards completing an Australian MBA should they decide to study further.
